Opportunity
The Jamar Kavon Hildreth Foundation offers a scholarship opportunity for high school seniors and current college students pursuing their first degree or advanced degree.
The foundation, established by Jamar's mother to honor his memory, supports the deaf and hard-of-hearing community.
Eligible applicants can receive awards ranging from $500 to $10,000. Students may apply annually while enrolled in higher education.

Scholarship Application Information
QUALIFICATIONS

Currently involved in community, volunteer or ministry service. Involvement must be verified by community, ministry or volunteer leader)

You are NOT eligible for this Scholarship if you are currently on academic probation.
Requirements for Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing, and/or diagnosed with a disability

Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing, and/or diagnosed with a disability students may submit a three to five-minute video in lieu of the typed essay describing how this scholarship will impact your education or life goals and give an example of a challenge you face in the hearing community.

An official high school transcript (for graduating seniors) or an official college transcript (for continuing students)

Proof of enrollment is required for continuing students

Verification of current community, ministry or volunteer service.

Two letters of recommendation.
Requirements for Hearing Students

A completed typed scholarship application.

A completed typed essay on how your career interests will provide assistance to persons who are Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing, and/or diagnosed with a disability.

An official high school transcript (for graduating seniors) or an official college transcript (for continuing students)

Proof of enrollment is required for continuing students.

Verification of current community, ministry or volunteer service.

Requirements for all Scholarship recipients

Attend a scholarship award meeting with Jamar's mother, Lisa Hildreth.

Serve as an ambassador for JKHFI by promoting JKHFI events, and sharing on your social media platforms.

Attend at least one Jamar Kavon Hildreth Scholarship event, either in person or online.

Participate in one check-in session with the scholarship committee during each academic semester. A 30 day notice will be provided.

If the requirements for the scholarship are not fulfilled, all funds will be forfeited.
